Photographer

Your wedding photographs will need to capture the feelings, expressions and moments of your special day.  They will bring your years of pleasure, so select you professional photographer carefully.

Most good photographers are in demand, especially in summer months, so start interviewing them as early as possible.

TRENDS IN PHOTOGRAPHY

  • Before or After
    • Couples choose to have most of their formal wedding pictures taken before the ceremony.  This prevents the photographer from having to rush, and the guest from having to wait for the bride and groom. Hair and makeup are fresh.
  • Black and White Photos:
    • Couples are choosing to have photographs shot in both color and black and white. Black and white is an old classic look but its popularity is still popular.  .
  • Still Photographs
    • Another popular trend is to edit still photos into the video of the couple, as babies, or photos of special moments they have shared.
  • High Quality
    • The trend is toward high quality videos, shot with two cameras and post-edited with graphics, music and titles.  High-band wireless microphones are used to capture good, clear sound, with ease of movement.

SELECTING A PHOTOGHRAPHER

Make sure, when interviewing a photographer, that you see his/her portfolio to determine if the style suits yours. Other things to look for are:

  • Does the pictures have good color and clarity?
  • Did he pay attention to
  • Does he capture the emotions and expressions of the day?
  • Is he/she creative with various poses?
  • Do they use soft lenses and lighting? Can they do multiple exposures and split framing which make interesting pictures

Questions To Ask Your Photographer:

    1. Will he/she personally be taking the photographs of your wedding?
    2. Do he/she work with an assistant and will they have back-up equipment in the event of a problem?
    3. How many hours does their price include?
    4. What’s the charge, if any, if the reception should last longer than planned?
    5. Will they stay through the cake cutting and garter toss?
    6. How much time will you need to allow for the formal wedding photos taken before the ceremony?
    7. What are the photo package prices?
    8. What are the individual picture prices?
    9. When will the proofs pictures be ready?
    10. Do you get the proof album or the negatives?
    11. Ask to get a contract detailing exactly the type of video coverage you’re expecting, number of cameras, amount and type of editing, titles and music included in the price, name of camera person, date, time, location and appropriate dress to be worn
